Happy Friday and thank you for checking in here at Our MT Nest.
I think there’s no better color than green to welcome spring. I’ve always been partial to shades of green during every season, but especially during spring. Spring green feels so bright and fresh. Combining a few shades of green with neutrals creates a very serene feel while it still allows the green to pop. The tablescape I am sharing today is perfect for a spring meal.
A spring soup like one of THESE RECIPES, along with a nice crusty baguette makes a great first course. Follow up with a fabulous chicken dish like Chicken with Herb-Roasted Tomatoes. (I’ll be sharing the recipe for this amazing chicken dish next week.)
This tablescape starts with a taupe on white plaid Tommy Hilfiger tablecloth that I picked up at Home Goods in December. It’s currently available on Ebay. In these photos it looks a bit wrinkly, but that’s because the fabric is somewhat puckery/crinkly. The blue and green striped cloth napkins are from Pier 1 last summer. They don’t seem to be currently available but I also love this one, or this one from Pier 1 or these from World Market.
The place setting begins with a burlap charger by Mud Pie that I purchased in a local store. They’re available from Amazon here but this one from Hobby Lobby is a much better price, and closer to what I paid for the ones I purchased locally. (Note: I don’t have a Hobby Lobby close to me.) The dinner plate is Sicily White by Thomson Pottery which seems to be discontinued.
The leaf-patterned soup bowl and bread plate were purchased several years ago at Home Goods. I previously shared the centerpiece HERE and for this tablescape, to up the green factor, I added the small wood planters that I purchased at Magnolia Market which hold tiny succulents.
Our table is ready for a small casual spring dinner party.
May your weekend be filled with good times. I’ll be back next week to share my latest projects at Our MT Nest.

What a beautiful table setting. A beautiful table is the best appetite stimulant, after the smell of good cooking when you enter the hostess’s house. That’s when you know you have something wonderful in store for you at the dinner table. Add some great wine and great conversation and you have the perfect evening. Lovely!
Cheers, M-T

You’ve said it so well…a table is the start, but the secret ingredients are friends, family, laughter, conversation, and a little of the grape always enhances the atmosphere! 🙂

I love your spring table. Green has always been my favorite color, and you’re so right about how “fresh” it is and perfect for spring. Love your plates, as well. I’ve been looking at burlap chargers, and you may have convinced me to buy some. They look great on your table. Thanks for sharing this tablescape. Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

I wish that those leaf plates and bowls were still around too. I only have four of each and would love to have more. But since I bought these, I haven’t seen them again. Thanks for your comment.
