Flag Day

DSC_0509ecw titleJune 14th is Flag Day, the day we commemorate the adoption in 1777 by the Second Continental Congress of the flag of our country. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation establishing June 14th as Flag Day and in 1949 it was officially designated by and Act of Congress. Although it is not a federal holiday, I think it is a day we should all honor our flag and think about what it symbolizes, the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

Recently, I tried this Pinterest project that I found appealing. I put together a wreath using flag picks and a styrofoam wreath form. It’s perfect for commemorating flag day!

Later I added a bow.
