June 14th is Flag Day, the day we commemorate the adoption in 1777 by the Second Continental Congress of the flag of our country. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation establishing June 14th as Flag Day and in 1949 it was officially designated by and Act of Congress. Although it is not a federal holiday, I think it is a day we should all honor our flag and think about what it symbolizes, the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
Recently, I tried this Pinterest project that I found appealing. I put together a wreath using flag picks and a styrofoam wreath form. It’s perfect for commemorating flag day!
Later I added a bow.
Here’s the front deck all “decked out” for Flag Day.
