Our Christmas Table


The centerpiece for our Christmas dinner tablesetting was simple, yet elegant. Three DIY mercury glass hurricanes each holding a strand of battery-operated fairy lights, three mercury glass pillar candle holders, and a faux pine garland intertwined between all these elements sit atop a script-printed table runner. Our Holiday MT Nest


It seems that whenever I get really busy, my blog entries drop off precipitously. I just haven’t learned how to balance doing and sharing about doing. Our Thanksgiving Table

dsc_0385-titleWhenever I design a tablescape, I generally start with one feature that provides the inspiration for the rest of the table. Sometimes it’s the table linens. Other times it’s the dinnerware or a centerpiece. Last September, I came upon a table display in Dillard’s home department showcasing Southern Living’s Acanthus salad plates. I fell in love with them and immediately knew they would be perfect for our Thanksgiving table.  Continue reading

Quick and Easy Fall Placecards

dsc_0133ew-title Today I’m sharing a quick, easy little project I completed in preparation for our Thanksgiving table. I want to include natural elements in this year’s tablescape. So I gathered some fall leaves and put them between layers of parchment paper under a heavy weight for a day to flatten them. I purchased some iridescent copper paint and chalkboard paint.
